Quest Underwater Services

Before any Marina new build, Harbour improvement or Pipe-lay project a site investigation is necessary to determine seabed conditions and enable the calculations to be made on how deep piles must be driven and trenches dug.

Quest using the spud-leg barge Testside or a purpose built pontoon configuration can position with sub meter accuracy. Boreholes are then drilled through the moonpool to the required depth, which may be up to 20 meters. Samples are then taken, records kept and reports complied. When shallow water near surface data is required a hand held hydraulic drill can be used.

For deeper samples excavators can be used ranging from mini-diggers on pontoons to 45tonne long reach machines mounted on the spud leg barge “Testside”.
